NOTE: I have removed this as my entry for the 1bit game jam due to me working on another game for the jam.

This is a 128x128 platformer, Made with godot 4.1, and aseprite. This was made for the 1bit game jam, Right now there is not chapter 2 but in the future i do plan to make more with a boss battle. This is just cause I didnt have lots of time.

Neat game

Very cool. there are a few levels. I think the one with the scrolling screen is annoying :D
If you made the assets well done.

Hello, I did notice the scrolling level became a bit annoying so I changed the camera for that so it goes with the players pace.

Really cool game! I really liked how the palette was used, as everything was nice and distinct. Everything is well-explained, given the restrictions in space & colour. I didn't have any problems with the platforming, and the difficulty progression was really good. I did run into some bugs though, unfortunately. The hitbox on the rat is a bit broken, where sometimes when you drop onto it, you don't kill it, but just land on it. Sometimes the rat then stops, but sometimes it moves and warps the pc to a random corner of the screen (once directly to the end of the level!), and I was able to reproduce the bug fairly easily. Also off-screen stuff is still loaded in, so you can activate the door to finish the chapter before the door becomes visible just by running off-screen at the end, and the left and right arrow keys work even though the player is never told this. This game is also fun to speedrun, I managed to get to the end of chapter 1 in 36.24s, but sub-30 should be possible!

(example of the glitch)

Thank you for the long message, The main bug you reported should be removed and fixed, I also made the camera follow the player in the scrolling level so that the player cant just run away from the camera. Also I didn't tell the player about the arrow keys mainly because of the lack of space I had in the levels, And since the starting levels are all 128x128 and not scrolling I didnt think to add a prompt. Once again thank you!

Cool Game!

Thank you, great to see someone else play it!

Very cool, nice!

Thx

sweet game 👍I think the movement was too slippery but everything else was on point

Thank you for the feedback, I will look into changing the movement!

Very fun and simple! Nice job! The jumping mechanic was pretty good and smooth.

Thank you

very cool game, could improve some little things, like the movement, but otherwise good 👍

Thank you for the feedback!

huh pretty solid, I will say the characte feels slippery, and not in a good way too,

Thanks for the feedback, Yeah the character is not that good i'll try and improve it!

The hitbox for either the player or enemy feels off. I keep dying when not touching the enemy.

Thx for the feedback, I made it smaller so the enemy should have to get closer now

Much better, was able to finish it. I do agree with the above comment that the movement feels slippery, but I got used to it pretty quick.
